I print cheques from Sage 50 on a Brother MFC-L2700DW (and an Epson WorkJet something something) - both feed face down, which means I have to manually arrange the stack to print in the right order. That being said is you need to load the tray face up, not face down? I assume you have checked the printing parameters from within your program to ensure that they do not have a method of flipping it around? My experience has not been with thousands in a cheque run, so I can't imagine any other way. Most of the time, when you open a stack of cheques they are 000 to 100 - then you need manually sort them into the order you want them to print. I'll bet that they are stacks of cheques that are numbered in reverse order so that when you feed a stack in to the printer the top of the stack is 100 with say the last of the stack 000.
